I was originally hired at the Costume Design Center to be the primary tailor on this project. Research by Ian MacDougall based on an archaeological discovery in a nearby POW cemetery had proved the presence of this particular military unit, out of Edinburgh, Scotland, was in fact in Williamsburg during the Revolutionary War meaning our Military Programs unit could portray them in the historical area given the proper attire. They are extremely detailed, bespoke uniforms that needed to be durable as well as distinct, and for our purposes were made in sizes between 30-56. They feature a winter waistcoat and coatee as well as a summer sleeved waistcoat.
