Senior Collection

Senior thesis designed for the Drexel Fashion Show 2017 and winner of the Gerry Sills Award for Excellence in Historic Costume for Fashion Design and the Delores Quinn Award of Highest Commendation.

This collection explores the agony that monarch’s experience, torn between title and humanity.

 

“[They] are half people. Ripped from the pages of some bizarre mythology, the two sides within [them], human and crown, engaged in a fearful civil war, which never ends.” -The Crown.

These hybrid creatures were created through wearable art and sculpture whose struggles are echoed in their mythological counterparts.

​

The siren fears her seductive influence is fleeting...

The minotaur is overcome by power thrust upon him...

The sphinx feels entrapped in responsibility and duty...
